Heart attack symptoms you should never ignore

Half of those who suffer a heart attack die before they make it to hospital.

Bupa’s National Medical Director Dr Rob Grenfell explains the vital signs that you need urgent medical help.

  1. Sudden pain on the left side of your chest, down your left arm and side of the neck.
  2. Pain that comes on during exercise then eases off when you’re resting.
  3. Sudden onset pain or new pain in your shoulders, neck, back, jaw or arm.
  4. Persistent chest pain.
