These bloggers are doing amazing things in the health and care spaces for their online communities. It’s been a rewarding journey, scroll down to check out our amazing winners.
This group of talented bloggers will be invited to join Bupa’s exclusive Influencer Program, with free webinars, workshops and insights from those who have successfully navigated the influencer space. They’ll also receive opportunities to work with us on campaigns throughout the year.
To help grow their influencer platform to improve the health and happiness of their online community - winners from each category will receive $1,000. Our People’s Choice winner will take away $2,000 and $3,000 cash goes to our overall winner.

2017 Bupa Blog Award Overall Winner
Emma from She Sows Seeds took out this year’s Lifestyle Category along with the Overall Winner Award. She stole our heart with her stories of motherhood, food, gardening, creativity and exploration, home and rural living. A highly engaging blog that you can easily become engrossed in. Beautiful genuine content complimented with stunning photography.
People's Choice Winner
Mel from Modern Mumma is this year’s People’s Choice winner taking out over half of the votes among 29 talented finalists. She is also the winner of our Families Category. This blog follows the life of raw parenting and contains reviews, tips and brutal family life honesty. Lovely relatable content for growing families and parents after a dose of normality.
Mel, the creator of Modern Mumma and winner of both the Families Category and People’s Choices impressed our judges with her writing style: engaging, simple and fun! A blog following the life of raw parenting with useful reviews, tips and brutal family life honesty.
Rachael Kable is the winner of our Wellbeing Category for her personal blog capturing clear insights and mindfulness techniques to inspire wellbeing. Rachael's information is not only drawn from her personal experiences, which include her own battle with stress and anxiety, but also from a qualification in psychological science. It’s not hard to see why our judges loved this blog.
PAWDinkum is the brainchild of one of Australia’s most successful food stylists and recipe developers, Fiona Rigg. A visually beautiful site offering unique and healthy hand-made doggie treats working alongside veterinarians to ensure recipes are nutritional and appropriate for pets.
Healthy Eating Winner
The winners of our Healthy Eating Category, this amazing husband and wife duo (qualified nutritionist and chef) believe 'everything in moderation’. Their approach to food is a healthy one, free from food restrictions or following fads. It’s a great mix of nutrition articles combined with something for everyone from parents to everyday people looking to enjoy great food. Our judges loved their passion and balanced approach to all things food.
Emma from She Sows Seeds - a self-proclaimed farmer's wife, green thumb, baker of scones, grower of chubby babies and giant pumpkins won both the Lifestyle Category and Overall Winner. This blog covers everything from motherhood, food, gardening, creativity and exploration to home and rural living. Engaging, genuine content complimented with stunning photography.
Our judges loved Sam's powerful story of recovering from cancer and making the most of life. A blog that shows true grit with refreshingly honest and open content. Winner of our Personal Category, you’ll find a heap of recipes and travel tips at The Annoyed Thyroid along with some beautiful and inspiring personal stories.

And what a night it was!There was an air of excitement, anticipation and anxiousness as former winners and Bupa Blogger Alumnae welcomed newcomers and this year’s finalists.
The night’s top prize was awarded to She Sows Seeds by Emma Steendam, who took out not only the 2017 Bupa Blog of the Year, but also the Lifestyle category. Emma was described as an honest and authentic blogger who writes beautiful content on everyday life in a fresh and engaging way. Her blog She Sows Seeds has exceptional writing, variety and potential and Bupa is excited to continue to watch the blog grow and develop.
